Dr. Gish is an experienced platform software architect for commercial enterprise products. Her experience includes developing leading edge technology at major companies including Adobe Systems, Sun Microsystems, and IBM; and also at startups that pioneered web enterprise technology (mobile/ubiquitous computing, web enterprise platform, object-oriented database). Dr. Gish was a member of the original Java team at Sun, and she is the sole inventor (14 patents) of technology used in a pioneering Java app server product.

Dr. Gish also has produced many publications from her experience as a pure research scientist in bioacoustics, and as an applied researcher in computer science (adaptive systems, machine learning, and classification algorithms).

Dr. Gish received a Ph.D. in Biology from UC Santa Cruz, a M.A. in Biology from UCLA, and a B.A. in Zoology from UC Berkeley.
